Caroline Lystash

Lystash dedicates herself to making senior year good for others

Caroline Lystash ‘20 has prided herself on extreme organization all through high school, but now that she’s in quarantine she enjoys being a bit more laid back.
“I don’t need to have a million binder tabs or color code my planner anymore,” she says. “I’ve started relaxing a little more.”
As she is one of the most spirited voices in the senior class, it might be hard to imagine Lystash taking it easy during quarantine and missing the traditions she has been looking forward to for over 12 years.
“When we were told we wouldn’t have the senior trip or graduation, I was so sad,” Lystash said. “I even cried a little. But everyone on the SCA has been working super hard to make this year still a good one, so I’m grateful.”
A lot of Lystash’s time has been occupied with the SCA. As a vital member of student government, she spends her days brainstorming ideas and creating fun events for the end of the year.
When asked about the contributions Caroline Lystash has made to the SCA, Susan Wenk said this: “The SCA has been working hard to come up with fun ideas for the seniors and all the upper school students during these last 7 weeks of online classes. A big part of that is Caroline Lystash's idea. Caroline is constantly thinking of ways to get students involved and lift spirits while we are not physically in school. Caroline will call or text every week to talk about ideas for student spirit. The SCA meets via zoom once a week where we decide what ideas to promote for school spirit. Caroline is involved in every video we make and works hard to get her fellow seniors to participate in every activity. One of my favorite characteristics of Caroline is how excited and emotional she gets about everyone having fun being involved. After the Tik Tok Videos by the seniors, the pre prom videos, and the spring pep rally video, Caroline calls me to talk about how great everyone did and how many times she has watched the video. She makes me so happy!!! I cannot tell you how much I will miss her next year!! She has truly given her best to our school academically, athletically, and most importantly to me, she has provided leadership during a super tough time for this year's senior class. I will be forever grateful.”
