Maria Albishiah ‘27 and Luke Daniel ‘27 stand together for a picture to showcase their chemistry project. Getulio Brasil, chemistry teacher, teaches students different chemistry methods through projects. Luke and Maria hold up their Lewis Dot Structure, project after just learning about it in class. The Lewis Dot Structure is where you put the valance electrons (dots) around an atom in a molecule. This is important for Brasil to teach so students can visually learn how to predict bonds and how atoms within a molecule are bonded together.  “This was actually one of my favorite projects I have ever done,” Albishah said enthusiastically. We will continue to see Brasil explore more teaching methods to keep kids interacting and interested.

THE CIRCUS PART 1

3/21/2025

Adelaide flew through the crowd trying to find her parents. It was the day before April Fools, and Addie and her parents decided to go to the circus. What her parents didn't know was that this was all a part of Addie’s big plan. As they walked into the circus her parents said they were going to get a hot dog, Addie doesn’t like hot dogs so she decided to stay behind. Hours passed by and Addie couldn’t stop going on different rides and enjoying watching the elephants and camels perform.
She finally met her parents at the contortion stage. There were multiple contortionists bending in what seemed like impossible ways and somersaulting all over the place. Night fell and Adelaide started to form her plan. He had contacted the Circus managers that they had to help her prank by “closing” the circus. Although they didn’t respond, Addie assumed they would go along with the plan because they worked at the circus, they lived for jokes.
It was now 9 pm. Al thought the circus was supposed to close at 9:30 the circus lights started to dim and it seemed that everyone was leaving the circus. Her plan was happening. Her parents looked at each other in confusion as they heard all of the doors shut promptly around them. Addie smirked sneakily and continued to act as if she was just as confused herself. Unlike her parents, Addie managed to see a staff member in the corner of the room that they were in. While her parents were trying to find out what happened, she snuck away to talk to him.
As she got close she could read that his name tag said John. “I can’t believe this is all working out,” Addie started, “who was the person who received my email anyway?” She asked.
“What email?” John said abruptly.
“Oh,” Addie stated blatantly, “Maybe you weren’t the person who I sent it to.”
“I think I would be, I manage any complaints or messaging that the circus receives.” He answered. Addie was filled with confusion, it must have been John who managed the website she contacted. Addie was about to ask who contacted him but before she could John walked away. She came running back to where her parents were, but they had mysteriously left.
“Where is everyone?” She asked herself. To be continued.
