Maria Albishiah ‘27 and Luke Daniel ‘27 stand together for a picture to showcase their chemistry project. Getulio Brasil, chemistry teacher, teaches students different chemistry methods through projects. Luke and Maria hold up their Lewis Dot Structure, project after just learning about it in class. The Lewis Dot Structure is where you put the valance electrons (dots) around an atom in a molecule. This is important for Brasil to teach so students can visually learn how to predict bonds and how atoms within a molecule are bonded together. “This was actually one of my favorite projects I have ever done,” Albishah said enthusiastically. We will continue to see Brasil explore more teaching methods to keep kids interacting and interested.
