Playing a state championship game at home for the first time, the Raiders left no doubt about being the best team in the state among small schools this fall. The boys won each game by a rounded average score of 38-6. Former high school (VES) and college quarterback Stephen Alexander devised a devastating passing game that averaged almost 240 yards per game. Isaac Harris averaged 130 yards rushing each game, which helped prevent teams from focusing on receivers like Zae Baines (right: catching a pass against Christchurch from Gabe Zappia ‘21 that became a touchdown). Former NFL defender and Defensive Coordinator Shannon Taylor coached the defense, centered on Aden Britton, to stop opposing offenses with brutal efficiency.
