Boys beat Covenant for third time this season.

“They drenched me with an ice bucket. Jacob shaved his head! Christian shaved his head also. We just worked hard with each other because the teams really were bad. We played for each other and focused on our reps. Drills and competitive games. # 3 seems so fast. It is our goal every year to win State.  Three-peat and 4 in a row conference was a great feeling, accomplishment.” - Head Coach Jim Schaefer

Getting pumped for prom

Picture
Although this is a stressful time, you can always wind down and listen to music you like at the end of the day to get your ears ready for prom as ‘Ziel Hart ‘26 and Nate Hayes ‘26 do while lifting after school.
Students like to relax to their own music. We asked a few students what they would like to hear at prom and most said “hype music,” which refers to mostly rap including
The most popular homecoming song “Fein” by Travis Scott which was played about six times, while a few took more of a classical take, such as “Love Story” by Taylor Swift and wanted to slow dance to the music.

Team of one: Henry Schumm represents NCS in VHSL and wins the varsity race at Miller School

Henry Schumm gets air over a jump on the course at Miller School on April 13. Schumm said that he felt good on the second lap, so he broke away and rode away from the pack. According to the official report on Instagram, “He rode the final laps of the race solo and finished with a very comfortable 31 second margin over the second place rider. This was Henry’s 19th interscholastic race win, and his first race officially representing North Cross. . . . The next race of the VAHS series will be on Saturday, April 20th at the Stokesville Campground in Mount Solon, VA. Henry will be wearing the blue jersey of the VAHS Series Leader.” Racing photo by Jack Looney. Team tent photo by Chris Berry, Schumm’s coach.
